A delicious apple danish pastry with flaky layers and sweet apple filling.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 egg
  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 egg yolk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and butter until crumbly.
  2. Add cold water and egg, knead into dough.
  3. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  4. Cook apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until soft.
  5. Roll dough into a rectangle.
  6. Spread apple filling evenly.
  7. Fold edges inward.
  8. Brush with egg yolk.
  9. Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes.
  10. Cool before serving.
