  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  5. Alternate adding the flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in diced apples.
  7. Pour half the batter into the pan, drizzle with caramel sauce, then add the remaining batter.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith for best flavor.
