Collard greens cooked with smoked turkey for a flavorful and hearty dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch collard greens, chopped
  • 1 smoked turkey leg
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Add smoked turkey leg and brown slightly.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  5. Add collard greens and red pepper flakes.
  6. Cover and cook for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove turkey leg, shred the meat, and return to the pot.
  8. Season with salt and pepper.
  9. Serve hot.

  • Remove thick stems from collard greens before cooking.
  • Adjust broth amount for desired consistency.
