A sweet and tangy cranberry compote perfect for pairing with desserts or meats.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 orange, juiced
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Rinse cranberries and pick out any stems.
  2. Combine sugar, water, orange juice, and zest in a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  4. Add cranberries, cinnamon stick, and cloves.
  5. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until cranberries burst and mixture thickens.
  6. Remove from heat and discard cinnamon stick.
  7. Let cool before serving.
