A refreshing and tart cranberry sorbet with a perfect balance of sweetness. Ideal for a light dessert or palate cleanser.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest

Instructions

  1. Combine cranberries, sugar, and water in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice and zest.
  4. Cool slightly, then blend until smooth.
  5. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any solids.
  6. Pour into a shallow dish and freeze for 4-6 hours.
  7. Stir every hour to break up ice crystals.
  8. Serve chilled in bowls or glasses.

Notes

  • Adjust sugar to taste if cranberries are very tart.
  • For a smoother texture, blend again before freezing.
  • Garnish with fresh mint or a lemon slice if desired.
