A delicious and easy-to-make blackberry crisp cooked in a crockpot. Perfect for dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

  • 4 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix blackberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Transfer to the crockpot.
  2. In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly.
  3. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the blackberries.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours or high for 1.5 hours.
  5. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • You can use frozen blackberries if fresh ones aren’t available.
  • Adjust sugar based on berry sweetness.
