A warm and comforting breakfast made in a crockpot with cherries and almonds.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel-cut oats
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups milk (or almond milk)
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine oats, water, milk, cherries, almonds, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in the crockpot.
  2. Stir well.
  3. Cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  4. Stir before serving.
  5. Top with extra cherries and almonds if desired.

Notes

  • Use almond milk for a dairy-free version.
  • Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
