- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
- Brown the ground beef, onion, and garlic in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Transfer the beef mixture to your crockpot.
- Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, add the broken lasagna noodles to the crockpot. Stir and cover.
- Once noodles are tender, stir in ricotta cheese.
- Serve hot, topped with mozzarella, Parmesan, and fresh basil if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter version.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra heat.
