- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 egg
- 6 medium apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix flour and granulated sugar in a bowl.
- Cut in butter until mixture resembles crumbs.
- Beat egg and stir into the mixture to form a dough.
- Press dough into a pie dish and chill for 15 minutes.
- Toss apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Fill the pie crust with the apple mixture.
- Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over the apples.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool before serving.
