  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, spices, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Beat sugar, molasses, egg, and vanilla in another bowl until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients to form a stiff dough.
  5. Shape dough into a 12-inch log on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes until firm. Cool for 10 minutes.
  7. Slice log diagonally into 1/2-inch pieces. Arrange cut-side down.
  8. Bake 10 minutes, flip, bake 10 more minutes until crisp.
  9. Cool completely before serving.
