A moist and flavorful pumpkin bread with a sweet maple glaze.

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup (for glaze)
  • 1 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, mix oil, sugar, eggs, pumpkin puree, and maple syrup.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients. Stir until just mixed.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  7. Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk for the glaze. Drizzle over cooled bread.

Notes

  • Use pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling.
  • Store bread in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • For extra flavor, add chopped nuts or raisins to the batter.
