- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg yolk and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Gradually mix in flour and salt until dough forms.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Place on baking sheets.
- Use your thumb to make an indentation in each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Remove from oven and immediately re-press indentations.
- Fill each cookie with 1/2 teaspoon salted caramel sauce.
- Cool completely before serving.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- For best results, chill dough for 30 minutes before baking.
- You can substitute homemade caramel with store-bought.
