- 1.5 lbs boneless chicken thighs
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
- Mix chicken with yogurt and half the spices. Marinate for 30 minutes.
- Melt butter in a pan. Cook onion, garlic, and ginger until soft.
- Add remaining spices and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Transfer sauce to slow cooker. Add marinated chicken.
- Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
- Stir in heavy cream. Cook for another 15 minutes.
- Garnish with cilantro before serving.
Notes
- For extra richness, add more butter.
- Adjust chili powder for desired heat.
- Serve with rice or naan.
