A creamy and flavorful Indian dish made with tender chicken cooked in a rich tomato and butter sauce.

  • 1.5 lbs boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix chicken with yogurt and half the spices. Marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. Melt butter in a pan. Cook onion, garlic, and ginger until soft.
  3. Add remaining spices and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Transfer sauce to slow cooker. Add marinated chicken.
  5. Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  6. Stir in heavy cream. Cook for another 15 minutes.
  7. Garnish with cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • For extra richness, add more butter.
  • Adjust chili powder for desired heat.
  • Serve with rice or naan.
