- 4 cups water
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions
- Combine grits, water, milk, salt, and pepper in a slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 4 hours, stirring occasionally.
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for 1 minute.
- Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 3 minutes.
- Stir cheese into grits until melted.
