A creamy and savory dish featuring fresh spinach baked with cheese and breadcrumbs.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs fresh spinach, washed and chopped
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Add spinach and cook until wilted, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Drain excess liquid from spinach.
  6. Stir in heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  7. Mix in half of the Gruyère and Parmesan cheeses.
  8. Transfer spinach mixture to a baking dish.
  9. Sprinkle remaining cheese and breadcrumbs on top.
  10. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden and bubbly.

Notes

  • Use fresh spinach for best results.
  • You can substitute Gruyère with Swiss cheese if needed.
  • For extra crispiness, broil for the last 2 minutes.
