A moist and creamy Tres Leches Cake soaked in three types of milk.

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Sift flour and baking powder together.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Fold in flour mixture until just combined. Pour batter into prepared dish.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Pierce cake all over with a fork.
  7. Mix whole milk, condensed milk, and evaporated milk. Pour over cake.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  9. Whip heavy cream with vanilla until soft peaks form. Spread over cake before serving.

Notes

  • Chill cake well before serving.
  • Adjust sweetness by reducing condensed milk.
