- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 large egg
- 1 vanilla bean, seeds scraped
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, mix cream, egg, vanilla bean seeds, and vanilla extract.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients. Stir until just combined.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface. Shape into a 1-inch thick circle.
- Cut into 8 wedges. Place on baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack before serving.
