This apple cider glazed chicken is a quick and flavorful main dish. The sweet and tangy glaze coats tender chicken breasts. You can make it in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F). Remove chicken and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add apple cider, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and minced garlic. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  5. Cook the glaze for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  6. Return chicken to the skillet. Spoon glaze over each piece. Cook for 1-2 minutes more.
  7. Serve the chicken with extra glaze on top.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken thighs for breasts. Adjust cooking time as needed.
  • For a thicker glaze, mix 1 teaspoon cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water and stir into the glaze before adding chicken back.
