This creamy tomato gnocchi with burrata is a quick and comforting Italian dish. Soft gnocchi are cooked in a rich tomato cream sauce and topped with fresh burrata cheese.

  • 1 pound potato gnocchi
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 8 ounces burrata cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook gnocchi according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add cooked gnocchi to the sauce. Stir well to coat.
  5. Tear burrata into pieces and place on top of the gnocchi.
  6. Cover the skillet and cook for 2 minutes until cheese softens.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use homemade or store-bought gnocchi.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
  • Burrata is best served warm and creamy.
