A simple and flavorful side dish made with rice cooked in garlic butter.

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups water or chicken broth
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add rice and stir to coat with butter.
  5. Pour in water or broth, salt, and pepper.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover.
  7. Simmer for 18 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes.
  9. Fluff with a fork and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use broth for extra flavor.
  • Adjust garlic to taste.
  • For richer flavor, substitute half the water with coconut milk.
