- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup sugar for topping
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Alternately add flour mixture and milk to butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Pour batter into pan. Arrange apple slices on top. Mix cinnamon and 1/4 cup sugar, sprinkle over apples.
- Bake for 45 minutes until golden. Cool before serving.
