Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine water, granulated sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until sugars dissolve.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Let cool completely. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove pumpkin solids.
  6. Pour into a sterilized bottle or jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Adjust spices to your taste.
  • For a thinner syrup, add more water.
