- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange pecans in a single layer. Bake for 5-7 minutes until fragrant.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar, vanilla, and salt. Stir until smooth.
- Pour mixture over pecans on the baking sheet. Spread evenly.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from oven. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit for 2 minutes, then spread.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
- Let cool completely, then break into pieces.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
- You can use dark chocolate or milk chocolate.
- For extra crunch, toast pecans longer.
