Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a large bowl, beat sugars and oil until combined. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in pumpkin and water.
  4. Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  6. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • You can substitute pumpkin pie spice for the cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Use 2 teaspoons.
  • Store bread in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • Freeze for up to 3 months.
