This pumpkin cream cheese bread is moist and flavorful. It has a creamy cheesecake swirl in the middle.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup water
  • For cream cheese filling: 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In another bowl, beat 1 cup sugar, oil, and 2 eggs. Stir in pumpkin and water.
  4. Add dry ingredients to wet mixture. Stir until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Pour half the pumpkin batter into pan. Spread cream cheese mixture on top. Pour remaining batter over it.
  7. Swirl with a knife for a marbled effect.
  8. Bake 55-65 minutes until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then remove to wire rack. Cool completely.

Notes

  • Store in the refrigerator because of the cream cheese.
  • You can add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter.
