Tender beef gyros cooked slowly for maximum flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast, sliced thin
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup diced cucumber

Instructions

  1. Slice beef into thin strips.
  2. Mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Coat beef strips with the spice mixture.
  4. Place beef in slow cooker and cook on low for 6 hours.
  5. Mix Greek yogurt and diced cucumber to make tzatziki sauce.
  6. Warm pita bread before serving.
  7. Assemble gyros with beef and tzatziki sauce.

Notes

  • You can use lamb instead of beef.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
