- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
