  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • For the glaze: 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add maple syrup, egg, and vanilla. Mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Gradually add to butter mixture. Stir until just combined.
  4. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until edges are golden. Cool on sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
  6. For the glaze: whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
