Make homemade applesauce in your Instant Pot with minimal effort. This recipe uses fresh apples, cinnamon, and a touch of sweetener.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pounds apples (mix of sweet and tart), peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons maple syrup or sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in the Instant Pot. Stir to combine.
  2. Close the lid and set the valve to sealing. Cook on high pressure for 8 minutes.
  3. Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining steam.
  4. Use a fork or potato masher to mash the apples to your desired consistency. For smoother applesauce, use an immersion blender.
  5. Let cool before serving or storing in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
  • You can freeze applesauce for up to 3 months.
